SMITH SCHOOL OF BUSINESS - QUEEN'S UNIVERSITY

Provides professional counsel, facilitation and leadership coaching for organizations seeking talent development and planning in fundraising campaigns, governance, executive leadership, business & strategic planning. Leads strategic facilitation and training sessions and building collaborative and integrated team dynamics and plans.

Responsible for the offices of Alumni Relations, Communications & Government Relations, Development/Fundraising, and Marketing & Brand Strategy with 120+ staff and a $14M budget. Led the University’s $500M fundraising campaign, raising over $175M in 5 years, and improving ROI from 2:1 to 4:1. Personally negotiated multiple principal gifts of $1M+ ($25M, $5M, $3.5M, $2M and more).

Led this national federated organization comprising over 80 community-based United Way and Centraide (UWC) organizations in Canada. Responsible for enterprise-wide risk management, governance and strategic drivers of Canada’s largest social-impact and fundraising organization. Jacline drove a program of re-branding, digital modernization, governance renewal, structural mergers, and public policy development. Represented UWCC within the charitable sector, worked with the Senate of Canada, several ministries, and joint committees within Parliament of Canada, on public policy initiatives such as food security, poverty, housing, mental health and refugee resettlement in Canada. Internationally, Jacline represented the Canadian United Way Movement as the second largest country in the 40+ country United Way Worldwide enterprise, comprising $4.5B USD in annual revenue, and a brand valued at over $35 Billion around the globe.

Accountable for strategic planning, fundraising and alumni programs: stewardship, marketing, communications and events for the Business School’s $100M comprehensive campaign. Personally negotiated gifts totaling over $25M (including single major gifts of $10M, $3.5M, and $1M). Provided counsel for a $50M gift.

2004 to 2008

Provided counsel and training in organizational business strategy development (mission/vision; accountability; work-flow; resource alignment; and marketing). Developed fundraising strategy aimed at building long-term capacity and principal gifts. Created customized transformational-gift strategies and major-gift campaign plans. Accomplishments include: a $25M and $15M philanthropic donation; a $26M corporate partnership.

Cultivated relationships with donors, friends and volunteers. Developed the Foundation’s first organizational strategic plan, and its first campaign plan. Implemented faculty-based and pan-university fundraising programs.
